Location: Roaring River, NC
Discipline: Cat 5 – Road, 24hr MTB Solo, XC, Triathlon
Highlights: I am actually new to racing, did the 24 Hour Burn in May, and the NWS Crit Series on June 29th. I have also completed a few triathlons as well. Other than that, I just entered the big rides around the area like the RAW, Blue Ridge Brutal, The Grizzly, Hurt Pain and Agony, Tour De Gaps, etc. I have been cycling for 2 years now.
Bio: I work for a local company in their IT department as a Support Analyst; I work a lot with Unix, AIX, and sql. I am a huge sports fan and love the great outdoors. I have always, since I can remember, played baseball, basketball, and football; went as far as the collegiate level to play baseball. I love to hike, fish, camp, canoe, and hang out with friends and family.
As far as the cycling world, I have always ridden bikes when I was a kid all the way through elementary school. I didn’t pick it back up until July of 2008 and the reason why I did is because I seen a Men’s Health article about a triathlon and thought it would be cool to compete in. So, I went to the local shop, bought a road bike and all the gear, and completed in my first triathlon that September. Since then I have fallen in love with cycling and have become addicted. I just started mountain biking in March and will begin cross racing this fall!
