Bio: I started mountain biking in the early ’90s in Houston. The only trails worth riding then were Memorial Park. In 1994 I moved to Austin to go to the University of Texas and discovered the Greenbelt and City Park. What a change from Memorial Park! In 2001, I entered a couple of mountain bike races, but didn’t stick with it; I was focused on law school and wasn’t motivated to ride. After I graduated, I began riding again. Only in late 2008 did I start racing consistently. My bike of choice: a steel single speed.
